Background
Passerelles numériques (PN), a non-profit organization, is dedicated to enabling highly disadvantaged youths, through their abilities and their commitment, to access education and technical and vocational training, in the sector of Information Technology. We work to build strong employability which will allow them and their families to sustainably escape poverty, and contribute to the social and economic development of their countries.

 

Established in Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Passerelles numériques currently trains 342 students and employs 100 people based in these three countries including a small team in France.

 

Passerelles numériques relies on the financial and skills sponsorship of several corporate partners such as Accenture, Econocom, Microsoft and Société Générale and also receives support from individual donors.

 

Passerelles numériques Asia is based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This transversal team is composed of 6 staff, who fill the role of support functions. Their goals are to coordinate the operations in proximity with the field.

Context and mission
Our surveys help us to assess our social mission, the success of our hard and soft skills trainings as well as the needs to adapt these corresponding with current IT labour market changes. In order to communicate with our key stakeholders and to meet the reporting requirements of our donors, we intend to streamline the data/surveys/reports across all three centres. The mission of the position holder will be to conduct a review and analysis of the surveys, update according to centre needs and improve the existing survey tools (Cognito Forms/Excel) and/or design new survey formats.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
Familiarise him/herself with existing surveys and monitoring and evaluation tools at PN
Collect information from centres regarding relevance of survey questions, update where needed in close cooperation with centres and PNA coordination team
Review the quality of existing data, the methods of collecting it, and the degree to which it will provide good baseline statistics for impact evaluation
Update OR design new surveys according to information received and analysed
Support and train centres in the use of the old survey tools (Cognito Forms/Excel) OR train them in the newly developed survey tools (Microsoft Forms, Google Forms)

Skills and experience
EDUCATIONBachelor degree in Political Science, Monitoring and Evaluation, International Development or similar subject
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCEExperience in an international setting is a plus
Data analysis skills are considered a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESOpen to work in a multicultural team
Attention to detail
Ability to work with different teams across multiple countries
IT SKILLSExcellent skills in online surveys (Cognito Forms, Microsoft Forms etc.) and data analysis (Excel, Power BI etc.)
LANGUAGESExcellent written and spoken English (working language of the project)

 

Status and conditions
Reporting to Social Mission Lead and Pedagogical Advisor as well as to the External Relations and Development Manager
Multicultural team setting across all three of PN’s project countries
Unpaid volunteer or internship
A possibility of accommodation at the students’ dormitory for all or part of the assignment (subject to availability)
For people paying income tax in France, all the costs of the assignment (e.g. plane tickets, vaccines, insurance and visa) are considered as donations and as such are 66% tax-deductible
